if He takes away their breath, they perish and return to their dust...Psalm 104

I am ...delightful 

I am...dust

can they both be true?

they are 

"...you shall be called my delight..." [from Isaiah 61]

and

"...He knows how we are formed

    He remembers...that we are dust..." [from psalm 103] and [today's reading from Genesis one...]

I am dust....and yet so loved

I am dust....worthy of giving His life for

I am dust....with a holy purpose

I am delightfully loved dirt

and I am dirt delighted to be loved...

"strive for peace with everyone

 and for holiness

 without which

 no one

 will see the Lord"
                                     [from Hebrews 12]

I strive for peace and yet I cannot...live peacefully with myself

let alone with everyone
....every one

I strive for holiness...to be set apart for God's own purpose
to know Him ....to know His love
and to love Him...with the love He has poured into my heart 

peaceful...
not loud or obnoxious 

not angry or proud

appropriate polite

treading softly gently 
loving....

patient kind

forgiving quickly forgetting 

keeping no record of wrong doing

wrong being

not envious, boastful, arrogant, rude

not insistent on its own way...

not irritable resentful 

 rejoicing in what is true 

delight has given way to burden 

bearing...all things

believing all things

love...

endures...all things

love never ends

...will it ever end...

undercurrents 

waves

and it is all swept away

and the dust 
lingers and settles....
