they have the most amazing things here in italy...
I'm in my room on this grey dreary morning...
...and suddenly the sun breaks through

maybe it'll be a sunny day after all...

I go to the window and I see "GOD"

...you know the rays of sunlight bursting through the clouds
I get my camera and mess with the settings
trying to photograph the rays of darkness and light...
and then I see 'the little smile of the moon'...
where the sun just was...
and I think is this an eclipse??!?!

this is an eclipse!

this morning I watched the sun as it behaved as the moon going thru it's phases...

my very first solar eclipse....in Italy

  1. How wonderful that you 'captured' the eclipse! It's an incredible picture - a "once in a lifetime" photo. I remember one time years ago we had a partial solar eclipse here. It was summertime and the leaves were on the trees. I went outside, and in the dappled sunlight on the lawn there were all these "little smiles of the moon" covering the grass. My young daughter told me to take a picture, but I didn't think it would turn out, so I never even tried. I wish now that I had at least tried...
